Mayor Flaggs expresses confidence in the city’s financial outlook after completion of the City of Vicksburg’s Fiscal Year 2023 independent Audit

Mayor George Flaggs, Jr. is pleased to announce the completion of the City of Vicksburg’s annual
budget report for the fiscal year 2023. This report marks a significant milestone in our commitment
to transparency and financial stewardship. The Independent Audit Report was completed by Booker 1. Camper, Jr. CPA, PLLC.

Key Highlights Include:

1. Financial Stability: The budget report reaffirms Vicksburg’s commitment to financial stability, with a clear focus on maintaining balanced budgets and prudent fiscal management.
   
2. Strategic Investments: Significant investments have been allocated to critical areas such as public safety, infrastructure development, and pay equity for city employees. These initiatives are designed to foster sustainable growth and improve the quality of life for all residents.
   
3. Transparency and Accountability: The City of Vicksburg remains dedicated to transparency and accountability in its financial operations. The budget report provides detailed insights into revenue sources, expenditure patterns, and long-term financial planning strategies.

Mayor Flaggs expresses confidence in the city’s financial outlook by stating, “The completion of
this independent audit emphasizes our ongoing commitment to sound fiscal management and
responsible governance. By prioritizing government functions that matter most tour community,
we are laying a strong foundation for Vicksburg’s future.

The Mayor is also pleased to announce that the City fund balance is 25% of the General Fund
which is equal to $9.7 million, saying “These are things you can expect to achieve when you work toward the same goal.” The full independent audit report will be available by the end of next week.
