One Shot in Vicksburg

A Vicksburg man was shot yesterday afternoon in Vicksburg.

At around 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, one person was shot in Vicksburg. The incident involves an area man and a person in a white vehicle, according to the victim. You can watch our live report by clicking here. Speed Mart at Washington and Speed was not involved in the shooting. The victim ran to Speed Mart for assistance.

The victim stated he was shot on National, near Washington Street and ran to the Speed Mart. He stated there was a confrontation with a person in a white vehicle. That person shot at him and struck him in the upper arm. Investigators with the VPD were observed on National near Washington Street soon after leaving Washington and Speed.

Man Shot near Washington Street

At 1:21pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, officers responded to the area of Speed Street and Washington Street for a report of a shooting. The victim, a 53-year-old white male, was struck in his right upper arm. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.
This case is under investigation.
