PCA took down Benton Academy 5-3

Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball team improved to 14-6 after defeating Benton Academy 5-3 on Tuesday.

John Wyatt Massey brought in the first run from a single and Taylor LaBarre scored from a passed ball to put the Eagles up 2-0 in the first. Chase Hearn hit an RBI in the second inning as PCA maintained a 3-1 lead.

BA managed to tie the game at three in the third. The Eagles didn’t respond until the fifth when Massey hit his third home run of the season that brought in the final two runs. He ended the night 2 for 3 with three RBIs.

Potter, Conley Johnston, Hearn and LaBarre each had a hit in the win. Massey struck out six batters and Hearn struck out four.

PCA will travel to face Franklin Academy next Tuesday.
