Remembering Henry “Kiddy” Banks
Henry ‘Kiddy’ Banks, a Vicksburg native and beloved family man, passed away at 75 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. His funeral will be held on September 26, 2026, at Mt. Zion #1 Missionary Baptist Church in Vicksburg.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Henry “Kiddy” Banks, 75, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2026, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. He was born February 16, 1951, in Vicksburg, Miss., to the late Don and Martha Banks. He was married to Carolyn Moore Banks for 49 years.
He was baptized at an early age at Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a lover of baseball and played for the Vicksburg Mets during his younger years, forming lifelong friendships and cherished memories. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was known for his love of fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Margaret Harris and Donzie Harris; and brothers Eddie “Ed B” Brown Sr., Don “Buster” Sr., Frederick “Tuddy” , and Paul “Zeke” Banks Sr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Carolyn; three children, Henry Jr., Catavia, and Casondra Young; three brothers, Sandy (Norma) Loud, Ray (Jakki) Banks Sr., and Wallace (Vonda) Banks Sr.; five grandsons, Rico Banks, Marland Young, Garland Young, Ahman Seyoum, and Desmond Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, beginning at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion #1 Missionary Baptist Church, 920 Fifth North Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Reverend Johnny Williams will officiate.
There will be a visitation Friday, Sept. 25, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m.
