Ruby Lee Walker, 7/7/46 – 12/5/23

Ruby Lee Walker went home to Jesus on December 5, 2023, at age 77. Ruby Lee Curtis was born to Tempt Curtis and Hester Evans on July 7, 1946, in Carlisle, MS. She is the fifth of twelve children.

As a child, she enjoyed dancing, babysitting, and spending time with her family. Ruby Lee Curtis met the love of her life Fred Allen Walker of Prentiss, MS at a dance. She was promised to Fred Allen Walker and they wed in the summer of 1966. They went on to raise four children: Fred Jr., Robert, Priscilla, and Cedrick. Ruby was a dedicated and loving mother whose motto was family first always and above all else.

Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Ruby was known for her warm and caring personality. She had a generous heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her kindness and compassion touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Allen Walker; her mother Hester Evans; father Tempt Curtis; and siblings, Corrine, Bessie, Emma, Albert Ray, Issac, Catherine, and Mamie.

She is survived by her children, Fred Allen Walker Jr. (Sarah), Robert Walker, Priscilla Walker Goldsberry (Y’Nassia), and Cedrick Amoh; her grandchildren, Y’Tarius Goldsberry (Tanisha), I’Lexus Goldsberry, Keamber Goldsberry, Heaven’Lee Goldsberry, Faith Goldsberry, Charity Goldsberry, Cedrick Amoh Jr., and Kennedy Amoh; her great-grandchildren, Morgan Goldsberry, Y’Tarius Goldsberry Jr., Caleah Amoh, and Chance Amoh; godson, Azarius Walker; her siblings Tempt, Nora Lee, Ida, and Flora; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Ruby Lee Walker on December 16, 2023, 11:00 AM at Word of Faith Church, 3525 Wisconsin Ave., Vicksburg, MS.

Visitation will be held at C J Williams Mortuary Services, 4310 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS on December 15, 2023 from 1 – 6 PM.
