Shots Fired on South Street
VICKSBURG, Miss – Shots were fired in the 1200 block of South Street just before 3 p.m. in Vicksburg.
Vicksburg Deputy Police Chief Troy Kimble has confirmed that shots were fired just before 3 p.m. in Vicksburg in the 1200 block South Street in the city.
According to Kimble, the shooter was described wearing all black clothing. Investigators with the Police Department are speaking with witnesses regarding the incident. There are no reported injuries in the shooting but there is property damage related to the event.

Second shooting in as many days
This is the second shooting reported in the city in as many days. On Friday afternoon two individuals were involved in an altercation at the gas station on the corner of Clay and Cherry. That altercation escalated to one of the individuals producing a weapon and firing it. The Vicksburg Police department released two BOLO’s later in the day that may be related to that shooting.

Shootings continue to plague the city
Vicksburg has endured several shootings over the past few weeks including one at the gas station located at Clay and Old 27. One person was injured when a bullet struck them in the foot in that shooting. Another incident involved a home receiving damage on Hillside Circle.
On October 21 the Vicksburg Daily News received three separate of reports of shootings in the city. The first report was at First East and Farmer. Around 7:30 that same evening a report of 40-45 shots was called in from the West-North West part of the city. A third report was in the area of Martha and Grammar Street that was called in around 11 p.m.
