St. Aloysius takes down ACCS in a district doubleheader

VICKSBURG, Miss.—St. Aloysius baseball team improved to 12-7 on the year after defeating Adams County Christian School in a doubleheader on Friday. Last night’s win marked the Flashes’ third win this week over the Rebels.

Game 1:

St. Al went ten innings with ACCS, and the game came down to a final walk from Clark Hobson, which gave them the 8-7 win. 

ACCS got the first two runs of the night but St. Al responded with a single from Carson Smith and a double from Walt Andrews to tie things at 2-2. By the end of the fourth, the Rebels had a 4-2 lead until the seventh.

With their chances to tie the game slimming down, Andrews and Hobson both nailed singles to tie the game at 4-4. The Rebels added three runs in the eighth but St. Aloysius tied the game at 7-7 after Laken Bradley smashed a 3-run double. It wasn’t until the tenth when the bases were loaded that Hobson earned the walk.

Laken Bradley went 3 for 5 with two RBIs while Keller Bradley, Carson Smith(1 RBI), and Andrews(2 RBIs) all had two hits. Sadler Lambiotte and Hobson(2 RBIs) each had one hit.

Keller Bradley struck out seven in the win and Max Hargrave struck out one.

Game 2:

The Flashes run-ruled ACCS in the fifth inning of game two. They finished the night with a 16-6 win.

Carson Smith, Evan Mallard, and Keller Bradley each got a triple in the win. Smith, Andrews, and William Roberson all had two hits and two RBIs. Mallard hit a 2-run triple to finish with four RBIs while Lambiotte(2 RBIs), Laken Bradley, and Keller Bradley each had one hit. Hobson and Pierson Smith each hit an RBI.

Mallard struck out three batters.

VHS:

VHS took a 17-0 loss to Clinton. Peyton Calvin had one hit in the loss.

PCA:

PCA took an 18-0 loss to Central Hinds.
