Star Basketball Player identified as last night’s Abraham Drive shooting victim

VICKSBURG, Miss. – A shooting on Abraham Drive has left one dead and three injured on Sunday night. 18-year-old Korey Sims Jr. has been identified as the deceased in the fatal shooting.

Around 9:30 p.m. a shooting occurred at the end of Abraham Drive. According to neighbors, a group of young people were sitting on the back porch of a residence when a person walked up and started shooting.

Last night, Sheriff Martin Pace mentioned that the other three individuals are also 18 years of age. Two of them are from Fayette and the other injured is from Vicksburg. 

Sims recently graduated from St. Aloysius where he was a star basketball player. Please keep his family in your prayers as they go through this tragedy.
