VPD reports last week arrests

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The Vicksburg Police Department released last week’s arrest reports and criminal court appearances.

Crimes such as drug possession, assault, trespassing and many more misdemeanors were reported. 

Teen Arrested for Armed Robbery

Jason Anderson, Jr., 18, of Vicksburg was taken into custody on Friday, August 2, 2024, following a traffic stop on Interstate 20 near the Halls Ferry Road exit. He was wanted for Armed Robbery of an individual that occurred on June 30, 2024.

In Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, August 5, 2024, Judge Angela Carpenter set Anderson’s bond at $60,000 and bound him over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

One in Custody for Marijuana

Officers stopped a Nissan Maxima for a traffic violation on Halls Ferry Road at 3:06am on Saturday, August 3, 2024. A search of the vehicle revealed nearly two pounds of marijuana inside the car. The driver, Damond Anderson, 28, of Vicksburg was arrested at the scene.

Anderson appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, August 5, 2024, on a charge of Felony Possession of Marijuana. His bond was set at $50,000 by Judge Angela Carpenter and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Man Arrested for Residential Burglary

On Saturday, August 3, 2024, officers responded to an address in the 1300 block of Bowmar Avenue in reference to a man seen entering a house whose owner was not at home. Inside, they made contact with Anthony Scott, 37, of Vicksburg. Scott was arrested at the scene and charged with Residential Burglary.

Appearing before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, August 5, 2024, Scott received a $25,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
