Three promoted at the Vicksburg Police Department

Three Vicksburg Police Department officers were promoted in a ceremony held at city court this morning.

Eddie Colbert and Jerrold Hayes have been promoted to sergeant. Donald Heggins was promoted to Lieutenant.

Chief Penny Jones opened the short ceremony, attended by family members, fellow law enforcement, and city employees.

Mayor George Flaggs spoke briefly saying, “You are to be commended and congratulated and at the same time you need to work together, collaborate and do the things we need to do to patrol this city and combat crime.”
