Tyler Godshaw signs to Southwest Mississippi CC
Another athlete has chosen the destination of where he plans to continue succeeding on the soccer field.
Warren Central High School’s Tyler Godshaw has signed to play for Southwest Mississippi Community College.
Godshaw has been playing soccer since the age of six after his mom introduced him to the sport. He continued to play throughout high school where he and his teammates created memories both on and off the field.
“I love when we just go out and eat before the games and have a good time,” Godshaw said.
Godshaw has played under Head Coach Greg Head during his entire varsity career as he recently just started his senior season.
“Without a doubt he’s one of the best coaches that I’ve had,” Godshaw added.
Godshaw scored four goals before his senior year but he has already surpassed that in 2023 after last night’s win at McLaurin gave him five on the year.
Choosing Southwest Mississippi CC. wasn’t a hard choice for Godshaw after a junior year visit.
“I fell in love with the program on that visit and they made an offer so they were my first choice,” Godshaw said.
Earning that scholarship took hard and Godshaw never did it alone as he thanked his supporters.
“I want to thank my parents for supporting me and my best friends and teammates,” Godshaw added.
Tyler is the son of Michael and Charlsie Godshaw.
Tyler Godshaw’s achievements:
- All-County player
- Won the Heart of a Champion Award last year.
