VHS defeated Callaway on Saturday

Vicksburg, Miss.-Vicksburg High School boys’ basketball team picked up another district win on Saturday after defeating Callaway 56-32. The win put VHS as the No. 4 seed heading into the district tournament this week.
Jaquez Marshall finished Saturday with a double-double as he brought in 10 points and 12 rebounds. Jaquez Jones capped things off with 10 points as well while Kris Washington and Mincer Minor IV both had seven points. Javeion Perkins ended the game with six on the board.

VHS girls took a 58-46 loss to Callaway. No stats reported.
Warren Central girls took a 47-33 loss to Columbus. No stats reported.
WC boys fell short to Columbus 64-52. Nash Morgan had a game-high 16 points and Robert Williams put up 11. Davon O’Neal added six points and DJ Gibbs scored five while Micah Moore and Jaylon Winters both put up four points. Caleb Lane and Roosevelt Harris Jr. both scored two points each.
Porter’s Chapel Academy girls took a close 38-36 loss to Hillcrest Christian. Marley Bufkin had 24 points and Sophie Masterson scored eight. Mia Abdo and Kendall Smith both had two points.

The PCA boys fell short 82-45. Jase Jung had 15 points and Schaffer Bell put up 14. Clayton McClure had 11 points while Nathan Austin and Austin Moore both scored two points. Morris Bailey hit a free throw.
