Vicksburg High tops Port Gibson in volleyball match
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg High School defeated Port Gibson in varsity volleyball on Tuesday night, winning 3-1 (25-14, 24-26, 25-17, 25-12).
The Missy Gators were led by Jamiya Stewart, who finished with 16 points and 10 digs. Teagan Stewart added 14 points and seven digs, while Amari Johnson recorded 10 points and five digs.
Other contributors included Jada Erwin with nine points and two digs, Jordan Grace with 10 points and one dig, and Alaina Williams with 11 points and two digs. Dallas West tallied five points and a dig, while Devine Tulloch had three points. Jermeria Wright scored three points, with Kenley Henderson and JaKayla Hampton adding one point each.
In junior varsity play, Vicksburg won in three sets (25-14, 27-25, 16-14). Peyton White and Zaria Jones each had 13 points to lead the Missy Gators. Alaina Williams added 12 points and three digs, while Imani Kelly contributed 10 points and five digs.
Harmony Harris scored eight points, JaKeyla Curry had four, Ranma Kilpatrick tallied two, and Camden McGloster added two. Reagan Hill and Khaliyah Thompson finished with one point apiece. Jones also recorded two digs.
VHS is now 4-1 on the season.
