Vicksburg native Josh Price is now coaching at Oregon State University

Vicksburg native Josh Price has been hired as an Assistant Football Coach at Oregon State University. Price is now the new Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Beavers’ organization.

Price comes to OSU from Appalachian State University where he was the Assistant Director of Football Athletic Performance. Before Appalachian State, he was a member of Arkansas State’s staff as a graduate assistant. 

Price played college football at Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi where he recorded 26 tackles. He then transferred to Southeast Missouri State, appearing in 26 games as a Redhawk and recording 42 tackles and 1.5 sacks at the defensive tackle position. In his first season at Southeast Missouri, Price helped the team to a 9-4 record while gathering 17 tackles on the year. Price once again led his team to another 9-4 season in 2019 where he had a total of 25 tackles and one sack on the year. Price was known for his ability to overpower his defender and stop the runner before a big gain.

Price played high school football at St. Aloysius under Head Coach BJ Smithhart. He led the Flashes to a 14-2 record in 2014 while racking up 72 tackles. He was a four-year starter with a total of 212 tackles in high school, which earned him a scholarship to Hinds Community College.

Oregon State University is now 4-3 on the year and they will travel to face Cal University on Saturday as their are a total of five games left in the regular season.
