Vicksburg’s Anthony Curtis Filming Faith-Based series focused on Bully Awareness

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Christian Pictures Productions is currently filming a new faith-based series centered on bullying awareness, set against the nostalgic backdrop of 1992 in Ashmount, Ohio.
The project is written, directed, produced by and stars 19-year-old award-winning filmmaker Anthony Christian Curtis, a Vicksburg native who has acted in numerous commercials, TV shows and films in Hollywood. Curtis has been featured in national campaigns seen in stores including Target, Walmart and Toys R Us, and has also worked with Disney TV Studios.
Drawing from personal experiences in the school system, Curtis blends mystery, faith and testimony in this emotionally driven series.
The pilot opens with a mysterious talent show act that sparks a supernatural shift. As the story unfolds, a group of teens must confront personal struggles shaped by bullying and rooted in deeper battles including wrath, anxiety, pride and depression.
The cast also features Miss Vicksburg Morgan Nelson, Miss Mississippi State Sarah Randolph and Judge Angela Carpenter, alongside rising talent from Mississippi State University, Southern Miss, Jackson State, Alcorn State and more. The project highlights individuals from the Vicksburg community, promoting unity, collaboration and storytelling with purpose.
“This project is my personal testimony turned into purpose,” Curtis said. “We’re using the power of storytelling to spark healing, faith and honest conversations around bullying.”
The production is funded by community donations. Organizers are currently raising $5,000 to support filming and travel costs.
