Warren County man arrested on child molestation charges; unrelated suspect extradited

WARREN COUNTY, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg man was arrested Monday on multiple child molestation charges, while a separate domestic violence suspect was taken into custody and later extradited to Louisiana, according to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.
Child Molestation Arrest
Robert Dan Smith, 57, of Vicksburg, was taken into custody at 2 p.m. on March 11 at Hailey’s Point. He faces three counts of child molestation.
According to Pace, the Vicksburg Police Department initially received information regarding the case, but during the course of their investigation, it was determined that the alleged incidents occurred in Warren County. Lt. Stacy Rollison was notified, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office has now taken the lead on this case, with assistance by the Vicksburg Police Department.
Smith is scheduled to appear for a hearing at 1 p.m. today before County Court Judge Southerland.
Domestic Violence Arrest and Extradition
In an unrelated case, deputies arrested Cody Lee Landrum, 33, following a domestic violence call on Jeff Davis Road late Sunday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. on March 10, Deputy Stubbs responded to the call. Before he arrived, a male suspect had left the residence in a Nissan Rogue. Stubbs later stopped the vehicle on U.S. 61 South near Yokena and took Landrum into custody.
Landrum was charged with second-offense domestic violence and was booked on a $7,500 bond set by Judge James Jefferson.
Authorities later determined that Landrum was also wanted on a felony charge in Madison Parish, Louisiana. He waived extradition and has been transferred to Madison Parish with a detainer placed for Warren County.
