Hot, Stormy Tuesday Ahead; Clear Skies Return Midweek
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A hot and humid Tuesday is on tap for the Vicksburg area, with the potential for severe afternoon thunderstorms before cooler, calmer weather moves in midweek, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid-70s. South winds will range from 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.
Tuesday will be hot, with highs around 90 under mostly cloudy skies that turn mostly sunny by afternoon. A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected, and some storms may be severe. Southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph will bring gusts up to 30 mph.
Tuesday night will clear and cool off, with lows dropping to the mid-60s. Winds will shift from southwest to northwest after midnight.
Wednesday will be sunny and less humid, with highs in the upper 80s and a light north wind. Wednesday night and Thursday will be partly cloudy, with lows in the mid-60s and highs in the mid-80s—a break from the hot start to the week.
