VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg will remain hot and mostly sunny through the middle of the week, but scattered storms—some possibly severe—are expected to return each afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, with isolated activity returning after 5 a.m. Some storms could be severe. Skies will be mostly clear, with a low around 71. Winds will shift from west to calm overnight. Rain chances sit at 30 percent.

Tuesday will bring scattered storms, mainly after 2 p.m., with a high near 88. Some storms could turn severe. Winds will be light, becoming northerly. The chance of rain remains at 30 percent.

Tuesday night will be partly cloudy and calm, with a low near 68.

On Wednesday, isolated morning showers will give way to scattered thunderstorms after 10 a.m. It will be partly sunny and warm, with a high near 88. Winds will shift from calm to light out of the east. Rain chances increase to 40 percent.

Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with isolated storms possible and a low around 71.

By Thursday, more isolated morning showers are expected, followed by scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. The high will climb to 89 under partly sunny skies. Winds will remain light out of the south, and the chance of precipitation is 50 percent.
