Shots fired and crash near Circle K
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two incidents, a fiery crash and shots fired, near the Circle K on Clay at Old Highway 27 in the early morning hours, were unrelated, according to police.
Police and fire were first dispatched to the area for a three-vehicle crash that included one of the vehicles catching fire and, according to initial radio traffic, with people trapped in the vehicle. People were injured in the crash and there is no current information on their condition.
A few minutes later, shots were heard ringing out in the area of the crash. According to a press release from the police department, no injuries have been reported in connection with the shooting.

Vicksburg Police Respond to Early Morning Crash and Shooting
The Vicksburg Police Department responded to multiple incidents during the early morning hours of March 29, 2026.
At approximately 2:46 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Clay Street and Old Highway 27 near Circle K in reference to a three-vehicle crash. One of the vehicles involved caught fire, and injuries were reported. The extent of those injuries is unknown at this time.
While officers were responding to the crash, at approximately 3:00 a.m., shots were fired in the area of Circle K. Officers located multiple shell casings at the scene. At this time, no injuries have been reported in connection to the shooting.
Preliminary information indicates that the crash and the shooting do not appear to be related; however, both incidents remain under active investigation.
