Anzley Keen signs softball scholarship to Crowley’s Ridge College
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Years of dedication and perseverance paid off for Anzley Keen, who signed a collegiate softball scholarship with Crowley’s Ridge College on Tuesday during a celebration held in her honor.
Keen said the decision felt right from the start.
“I love the environment and the small vicinity of it,” she said.
Keen committed to CRC in January, shortly after the program began recruiting her for the upcoming season. The Warren Central standout has been a key contributor to the team’s success in recent years.
As a junior, Keen recorded 19 hits and 17 RBIs. She elevated her performance even further in her senior season, posting a .431 batting average with 22 hits and 27 RBIs.
Her journey began at just 6 years old, and she never let go of the sport that helped shape her into the player she is today.
“I love the light softball brings and it helps everyone come together,” Keen said.
Among her many memories, one stands out above the rest — a playoff victory against Saltillo, where Keen made multiple diving plays to help secure the win.
Becoming a college athlete has long been a dream, and Keen now sees that dream realized. She credited her success to her faith and the support system around her, including her family, coaches and friends.
Keen is the daughter of James & Amber Daniel and plans to major in elementary education with a minor in coaching at Crowley’s Ridge College.
