VPD responds to Parkwood shooting
Investigations continue into the early morning shooting at Parkwood South Apartment complex.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — In the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 10, Vicksburg Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Parkwood South Apartments.
According to a press release from the department, police officers responded in reference to a shooting incident at the apparent complex located in the 500 block of Bazinsky Road at around 1:30 a.m.
After arriving on scene, officers learned an exchange of gunfire involving multiple individuals had occurred. Reports indicate an adult female sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. It is believed her injury is non-life-threatening.
In an initial story about the shooting, Vicksburg Daily News reported shortly after the incident an adult male arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound. VPD did not indicate the two incidents were related in its press release.
