AMAZE Community Service Award Announced in Honor of Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr.

VICKSBURG, Miss. – Vicksburg Ward 2 Alderman, TJ Mayfield announced in a press release today the launch of the AMAZE Community Service Award that will honor the memory of his father, the late Alderman Michael Mayfield Sr., as well as acknowledging the dedicated citizens of Vicksburg.

AMAZE Award submissions may be be made via the City of Vicksburg’s website here, Alderman Mayfield’s Facebook Page, or in person at the Ward 1 Alderman office on the Third floor of Vicksburg City Hall.

Below is the text of the press release:

It is with great pleasure that I announce the creation of the AMAZE Community Service Award. This monthly recognition is dedicated to people in the Vicksburg community named consisting of the acronym AMAZE “Alderman Mayfield Award for Zeal and Excellence.” This award, named after the late Alderman Michael Mavfield Sr., will honor local individuals for their dedication and commitment to the betterment of the Vicksburg community.

The Vicksburg community has a wealth of amazing people, who deserve to be acknowledged for their unwavering dedication to our community. Every month, I will be committed to finding the selfless acts of service of people in Vicksburg, no matter how small the act of service may seem. Although this award will primarily focus on young adults and youth in our community, we are dedicated to honoring all people who strive to show Vicksburg in a positive light.

Nominations may be submitted via the City of Vicksburg’s website page by selecting Administration of the Departments home tab. After selecting Departments, select the star to the left of the North Ward Alderman tab. Submissions may also be submitted via the link in the Alderman J Mayfield Facebook page or in person at the Ward 1 Alderman office on the Third floor of Vicksburg City Hall.
