BJ Smithhart hired as West Lincoln head football coach
BROOKHAVEN, Miss.(VDN) — BJ Smithhart, a Vicksburg native, has been hired as the head football coach at West Lincoln High School, marking his second stint with the Bears after previously leading the program from 2017-18.
Smithhart most recently coached at Bogue Chitto High School, where the Bobcats finished 8-4 and captured a district championship in 2025. They went 6-5 in his first season in 2024.
Smithhart became a head coach in 2008 at St. Aloysius High School and remained there for nine seasons. The Flashes reached the state championship game in 2014. During his tenure, he coached future NFL players Ben Brown, Drake Dorbeck and DeMichael Harris.
After his time at West Lincoln, Smithhart took the job at Franklin County High School in 2019, where he coached for five seasons.
