Lady Vikes track team finishes second at North State; Missy Gators came in third place

Olive Branch, Miss.(VDN)—The Warren Central High School girls’ track & field team finished second place at North State and Vicksburg High School girls came in third. VHS(8th) and WC(4th) boys both had athletes to advance to state.
WC Results:
- Adria Burrell grabbed two 1st places. She came out on top in the 100m dash(12.02) and the 400m dash(48.51). She also came in second play in the 200m dash(25.03).
- Madison Ward came in second place in the 100m hurdles(16.70) and fourth place in both the high and long jump while finishing third in the triple jump.
- Mere Smith earned the blue ribbon in the 300m hurdles(48.96).
- Arrionna Jenkins won the discus(102-8) and came in second in the shot put(33-5).
- Marissa Stewart will also advance to state after coming in fourth place in discus(85-8).
WC Boys:
- Dwight Palmer earned three first-place medals in the 100m dash(10.73), 200m dash(21.52), and 400m dash(49.51).
- Rohan Caples came in second place in the 800m run(2:03.61).
- Chester Savage won the 300m hurdles(40.52).
- Ricky Neal Jr. came in third place in the long jump(21-6.75) and fourth in the triple jump.
- Gavin Davenport won first place in the shot put(42-7.5).
- Ashton Wright, Chester Savage, and Jonah Artman— 3:36.99(4x400m relay). Fourth place.
VHS results:
- Amiyah Hall beat out the competition in the 200m dash(24.56) and came in second in the 100m dash(12.22).
- Zion Knox won two blue ribbons in the long jump(17’9.5) and triple jump(38-6). She also came in third place in the 400m dash.
- Xhiareia Darensburg came in third place in the 300m hurdles(49.60).
- McKenzie Edmond earned second place in the high jump(5-2).
- Aaniyah Kelly also finished second in the long jump(16-10.5).
- Kennedy Williams ended the night by getting second place in the discus(100-11).
- Nakia Jeffers, Raylyn Parson, Amiyah Hall, and Rocsi Stewart led the 4×200 team to second place.
VHS Boys:
- Jayden Woods came out on top in the discus(127-11) and fourth place in the shot put.
- Shaun Archer Jr. finished fourth in the discus.
