Mayor Flaggs Announces Preparations to Respond to Hurricane Francine
VICKSBURG, MS. – As Hurricane Francine approaches, the City of Vicksburg is fully prepared to respond to any challenges the storm may bring. Mayor George Flaggs, Jr. announced today that the city’s first responders and law enforcement agencies are on high alert and ready to act swiftly to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents.
“We have been closely monitoring the progress of Hurricane Francine, and I want to assure the citizens of Vicksburg that we are ready to meet this storm head-on,” said Mayor Flaggs. “I have personally spoken with our first responders and law enforcement officers, and they are fully prepared to protect and serve our community during this time of need.”
The City of Vicksburg has fully activated its emergency response teams, ensuring all resources and personnel are ready to respond swiftly to the impacts of the storm. The Vicksburg Fire Department, Police Department, and Public Works are on standby, ready to deploy resources as necessary.
Additionally, the Ardis T. Williams Auditorium will be available for the next 72 hours to serve as an emergency shelter if needed, and city officials are in constant communication with the National Weather Service to provide up-to-date information to the public.
Residents are encouraged to stay informed and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families. The city urges everyone to follow official updates, secure their properties, and have an emergency plan in place.
