Port Gibson defeated Noxubee County on Monday

Port Gibson High School’s girls’ basketball team triumphed over Noxubee County with a final score of 61-53 in the first round of the playoffs on Monday night.

During the first half, the Blue Waves managed to maintain a slim lead of 30-27, thanks to the efforts of Camara Evans, Rekiyah Washington, and Ger’Kiya Flowers. Flowers particularly
excelled in the third quarter, hitting three 3 pointers that helped Port Gibson stay ahead. As the game progressed into the fourth quarter,
both Evans and Flowers continued to contribute with multiple successful shots, while Amiyah Hedrick capitalized on free throws.

Flowers emerged as the leading scorer with an impressive 25 points, with Evans not far behind with 19. Washington finished the game with eight points, and Hedrick managed to
contribute four points as well.
