Sound Circuit on First North near Clay will be closing at the end of the year.

In a post on social media, owner Robert “Bob” LaBarre announced he will be closing the car audio and accessories store.

“I will be retiring at the end of this year. As a result, Sound Circuit will be closing as well. A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have supported us throughout the past 45 years. I thank God for this opportunity and for all the fond memories and friendships I will carry with me into the next chapter of my life. I invite everyone to drop by and visit me during the next 2 weeks for our liquidation sale. Our installations will continue until all of our pending work is finished. Merry Christmas!”

Sound Circuit had a non-stop litany of people dropping by this morning to do business with LaBarre but he was able to briefly speak with the Vicksburg Daily News, saying, “It’s been a long run and I wanted to do more in my personal life, with my wife. Go camping, do whatever.” LaBarre insisted we include, “Make sure you tell the people I really appreciate the support through the years. It’s been them as much as me, also the guys that worked for me, all the people that have supplied us, the lines we’ve carried. That means a lot to me.”

LaBarre closed with, “I am just humbled by all the attention I’m getting here, I really am.”
