Storms and steamy heat return to Vicksburg through Saturday

On Thursday, storms are likely in the afternoon, especially after 1 p.m. Expect partly sunny skies and a high near 89, with heat index values reaching as high as 98. Winds will shift south around 5 mph. The chance of rain is 70%, with rainfall totals between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Thursday night brings a 30% chance of early evening storms, with mostly cloudy skies and a low around 73.
Friday will begin with a slight chance of showers, followed by likely storms after 10 a.m. under partly sunny skies. The high will reach around 90, with a 60% chance of rain.
A 20% chance of storms lingers Friday night, which will be mostly cloudy with lows near 73.
Saturday brings a 50% chance of afternoon storms and a high near 91 under partly sunny skies. Winds will stay calm, shifting to the southwest around 5 mph.
