Suspect identified in East Main Street shooting, police say

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — An unidentified woman was shot during an altercation this afternoon in the 2900 block of East Main Street. The victim’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening, according to interim Vicksburg Police Chief Mitchell Dent.

Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, August 15, a shooting occurred around 2925 East Main St. after an argument between two females. One received what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.

A suspect has been identified, and officers are currently investigating the situation. No arrests have been made at this time.
