Vicksburg Man Arrested in Fatal Assault Investigation

TALLULAH, La. — The Madison Parish Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Vicksburg man for second-degree murder from a physical altercation that left one woman dead. The name of the victim has not been officially released by authorities.

Deputies discovered a 35-year-old white female who appeared to be deceased. An investigation was launched by the Louisiana State Police Detective Bureau in collaboration with the Madison Parish Criminal Investigation Division.

Authorities determined that two Vicksburg, Miss., natives residing at the Byson Road residence had been involved in an argument, which escalated to a physical altercation. The woman reportedly died as a result of her injuries.

Nathan Kirkley, 34, was arrested at the scene and charged with second-degree murder. He is being held on a $350,000 bond.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
