Vicksburg sweeps Terry in varsity volleyball match

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —The Vicksburg High varsity volleyball team picked up a straight-sets victory over Terry on Thursday, winning 25-21, 25-19, 25-18.

Jamiya Stewart led the Missy Gators with 16 points and six digs, while Teagan Stewart added 13 points and six digs. Amari Johnson contributed 12 points, one ace and seven digs. Jordan Grace had 11 points and six digs, and Dallas West tallied nine points, two aces and three digs. Jemeria Wright scored five points and made three digs, while Saudia Stewart finished with three points and one ace. Jada Erwin chipped in six points and one dig.

In junior varsity action, Terry topped Vicksburg in two sets, 25-22, 25-20. Zaria Jones led the JV squad with 10 points and one dig, while Zipporah Drake had seven points and four digs. JaKeyla Curry scored six points with three digs, and Camden McGloster added five points and three digs. Imani Kelly and Alaina Williams each finished with five points and one dig, Harmony Harris scored two points, and Peyton White had one.

Vicksburg will play its next match Monday in a district contest against Florence.
