VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central High School’s ninth grade football team stayed unbeaten Tuesday night with a 32-7 victory over Rosa Scott. The win improved the Vikings’ record to 2-0 on the season.

Quarterback Cameron Zellous got the scoring started on the opening drive with a 2-yard touchdown run. In the second quarter, Braylen Selvy powered in from 9 yards out to extend the lead. Rosa Scott answered with its only score of the night on a kickoff return just before halftime, cutting the margin to 12-7.

The Vikings took control in the second half. Selvy intercepted a pass and returned it 88 yards for a touchdown. Zellous later connected with Doss Morgan for a 6-yard touchdown pass, and Jordan Taylor added a 23-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.

Warren Central’s defense stifled Rosa Scott, holding them under 100 total yards and limiting their points to the kickoff return. Glen Thomas recovered a fumble, while Morgan also had an interception to lead the defensive effort.

The Vikings will host Germantown next Tuesday.
