A walk-off sealed the deal for Warren Central as they defeated Neshoba Central 3-2 on Tuesday night.

“Conner played like a dog tonight and everybody believed in him,”senior Ryan Nelson said.“We have to get better at the place and that team should’ve gotten run ruled but we stuck together and we knew we would win this game.”

The Rockets got on the board first as they took the 1-0 lead in the first inning. By the third inning, the Vikings were still down by one run until Ryan Nelson and Cade Fairley both got on base from hits which set up an RBI from Maddox Lynch to tie the game at one. Conner Watkins helped WC take the 2-1 lead after hitting a ground ball.

Both teams struggled with hitting the ball but Neshoba managed to tie the game at two after a double in the fifth.

By the seventh, Watkins helped WC stay alive by not allowing any runs in the inning. After hits by Cole Autrey and Ryan Nelson along with a walk, the bases were full and things looked bright for the Vikings. Fairley was then hit by a pitch that gave WC the their final run that won the game.

Watkins struck out eight batters in the win while Nelson went 2 for 4 at the plate. Hayes Loper and Cole Autrey both had a hit while  Fairley and Lynch had RBIs.
