Vicksburg native Sade Robinson’s killer sentenced to life without parole
MILWAUKEE, Wis. (VDN) — A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2024 killing and dismemberment of 19-year-old Vicksburg native Sade Robinson.
On Friday, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Laura Crivello handed down the sentence to 34-year-old Maxwell Anderson, who was convicted in June on charges of intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, arson, hiding a corpse, and first-degree reckless homicide.
According to prosecutors, Anderson met Robinson for drinks on April 1, 2024. After the date, they returned to his residence, where Assistant District Attorney Ian Vance-Curzan argued the murder took place. Anderson then dismembered Robinson’s body, disposed of parts around Milwaukee, and set her car on fire.
“What kind of person cuts off someone’s head? A killer, a killer who’s trying to get away with killing,” Vance-Curzan said during the trial. “There is no question about the person responsible for doing it. The killer — it’s him.”
Anderson never testified in his defense. Prosecutors relied on surveillance footage, including video of Anderson riding a Route 35 bus just blocks from where Robinson’s burning car was found.
In the weeks and months after the murder, Robinson’s severed leg, foot, torso, and arm were located in separate areas of the city. Her head and neck were never found, and the official cause of death could not be determined by autopsy.
Assistant District Attorneys Vance-Curzan and Megan Newport led the prosecution.
