St. Aloysius sweeps Clinton Christian in doubleheader

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The St. Aloysius baseball team defeated Clinton Christian Academy in a doubleheader Friday.

In Game 1, the Flashes rolled to a 17-4 win that was called after five innings. St. Aloysius finished with eight hits in the victory.

Sadler Lambiotte led the way with a double, two hits and three RBIs. Pierson Smith also doubled and recorded one RBI. Robert Lee drove in two runs, while Emerson Blackburn and Scoot Melton each added one RBI. Cohen Coomes contributed one hit, and J.T Smith drove in one run.

On the mound, M.A. Britton, Keller Bradley and Max Hargrave each struck out three batters, while Coomes added one strikeout.

In Game 2, the Flashes collected 11 hits in a 14-4 win.

Lambiotte dominated again, hitting three doubles and finishing with three RBIs. Coomes recorded three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Pierson Smith hit a home run and finished with two hits and one RBI. Hargrave and Lee each doubled and drove in one run. William Roberson added one hit and two RBIs, while Walt Andrews recorded one RBI.

Andrews also struck out two batters, and Bryce Shows led the pitching effort with six strikeouts in the win.
