Porter’s Chapel Academy celebrated Senior Night with a 3-2 win over Newton Academy in Vicksburg. The Lady Eagles secured the victory with a dramatic seventh-inning run, honoring seniors Mia Abdo and Coley Porter in their final home game.

Porter’s Chapel Academy’s softball team celebrated Senior Night with a 3-2 victory over Newton Academy, sending seniors Mia Abdo and Coley Potter out with a win.
Abdo and Porter were recognized as PCA’s two graduating seniors as the Lady Eagles capped the special night with a dramatic seventh-inning victory.
PCA opened the scoring in the third inning when Marley Busby and Abdo each scored on wild pitches, giving the Lady Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Newton Academy answered in the fourth inning when Munn hit a two-run single to tie the game at 2-2.
The score remained tied until the seventh inning. Maggie Clune raced home on an error to score the winning run and give PCA the 3-2 victory.
Marley Busby led the Lady Eagles at the plate, going 3-for-4. Lauren Rae Davis went 2-for-4 with a double, while Abdo, Brooklynn Nicholson and Kadience Pugh each recorded one hit. Raedon Busby finished with one RBI. Potter also went 2 for 4 at the plate.
Nicholson also contributed in the circle, striking out two batters in the Senior Night victory.
