Here is a breakdown, including some of those arrests:

On May 29, Shandrick “Black” Montgomery was shot and killed on Locust Street in Vicksburg. Bernard Brown has been arrested and charged with his murder.

On June 6, in the late afternoon, a road rage-type incident resulted in gunshots striking a vehicle near Dana Road.

On June 6, around 8:30 p.m., residents reported hearing around ten shots fired in the Elizabeth Circle area.

On June 6, just before 9 p.m., shots were fired at a convenience store on the corner of Gibson and Halls Ferry Road. When deputies arrived on scene they found the front door of the store had been shot out and a vehicle showed evidence of gunshots. There was no victim at the scene. Almost simultaneously, a 27-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds was tranported to an area hospital by private vehicle. That person was identified as the victim of that shooting. Their name or condition have not been released at this time.

That same night, at about 10:50 p.m., a mobile home on Woodland Hills Road, which is off of Funches Road, reported that their trailer was shot into. While the trailer was occupied, there were no injuries. According to a separate report there were three adults and a 2-year-old in the trailer. That same report said two shooters and two weapons fired over 30 shots into the trailer.

At about 1:15 on the morning of June 7th, just a couple of hours after the shooting into the trailer on Woodland Hills Road, Vicksburg Police responded to the 4100 block of Washington Street near the Circle K where 25-year-old Devontay Knight was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper extremities.

On the morning of the 9th, at about 2 a.m., an individual reported he was on Halls Ferry Road just south of the city limits when someone shot into his vehicle. There were no injuries.

At 3:42 a.m. the same morning, a vehicle was shot in the 4900 block of Halls Ferry Road. An individual in that vehicle was hit in the upper leg. The following morning investigators detained a 16-year-old juvenile who was taken to the juvenile detention center. While their arrest was related to the shooting, they were not the shooter, according to Sheriff Pace.

On June 10, at about 9:18 p.m., there were numerous reports of a shootout between two vehicles in the 300 block of Grange Hall Road. The roadway was closed while units with the VPD conducted an investigation. Shell casings were recovered at the scene.

On June 11, at around 8 p.m., an altercation occurred near the playground on Elizabeth Circle near its intersection with Athens. Shots were fired. No one was injured but a vehicle was struck. “Four people are detained and in custody. Two adults and two juveniles,” said Deputy Chief Troy Kimble. “We have witnesses who were able to give us information and we have video survellance in that area as well.”

Of the other shootings, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said, “We have identified, located, and impounded a vehicle used in at least two of these shootings at Halls Ferry and Gibson and Woodland Hills. And we have identified three individuals that we need to talk to.”

“Investigators have been working around the clock on this. It appears at this time that these shootings are related and that this involves an ongoing beef between several individuals,” said Pace.
