December Fastbreak shooter charged with felony domestic assault

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A Vicksburg man out on bail for aggravated assault with a weapon has been arrested and charged with felony domestic assault, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.
On Feb. 1, officers responded to a domestic disturbance on Cain Ridge Road involving Rashad Williams and two unidentified women.
“When the report was done, due to recent changes in domestic violence laws, it was originally filed as a misdemeanor,” Police Chief Penny Jones said.
After reviewing the case, Capt. Billings and Deputy Chief Kimble determined that the injuries sustained by the victim warranted escalating the charge to a felony, Jones said.
The Vicksburg Police Department then issued a felony affidavit. With Williams already out on bail, officers located him using his tracking device, and he was arrested on March 5.
On March 6, Williams appeared before Judge Carpenter for his arraignment. He was charged with felony domestic violence, and his bond was set at $100,000. He has been bound over to the grand jury.
Jones said Williams will also appear in a Warren County courtroom, where his bond may be revoked.
Williams was previously arrested and charged on Dec. 13 in connection with a Dec. 10, 2024, shooting at the Fastbreak gas station at Cherry and Clay streets, which left one person injured.
