St. Aloysius fell short 41-14 in their season opener against Adams County Christian School on Friday night.

“We’re not a bad football team but we have to have more discipline,” Flashes’ Head Coach Walker Mosby said.

St. Al would eventually get on the board in the third quarter when Carson Smith ran the ball in from eight yards out. Thompson Fortenberry gave the Flashes their second touchdown when he broke out for 38 yards in the fourth quarter. John Ellis Montgomery nailed both of the extra points.

Defensively, the Flashes made some key stops, including Fortenberry who led with 10 tackles and a sack. Jaden Wheeldon and Sam Hall both had sacks as well. Freshman Evan Mallard grabbed eight tackles while Dru Gleese, Holden Davidson, and Keller Bradley all had two tackles and two pass deflections.

The Flashes will be at home next Friday to host Cathedral.
