MOBILE, Ala. (VDN) — Jonathan Henderson, a Vicksburg native, is tied for No. 1 in the nation in the high jump following his latest collegiate performance.
Henderson cleared 7 feet, 1/2 inch to finish first at last week’s Jaguar Invitational.
A redshirt freshman at the University of South Alabama, Henderson is a 2024 graduate of Warren Central High School, where he competed under head coach Corey Wilson Sr. He starred in track and field for four years, set the school record in the high jump, won a state championship and earned All-American honors. He also competed for Olympus Bound in Raymond during his senior season.
Henderson’s next meet is scheduled for Saturday at LSU.
