Malik Sims shines defensively for Mississippi Mayhem

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Malik Sims, a Vicksburg native, is now competing with the Mississippi Mayhem in a semiprofessional football league, making an early impact at linebacker.

Sims has played in two games this season and delivered strong performances on defense. In his debut, he recorded 11 tackles in a 22-12 loss to the Arkansas Kings. He followed that performance over the weekend with nine tackles to help lead the Mayhem to a 36-34 victory over the Memphis Pharaohs.

Before joining the Mayhem, Sims wrapped up his collegiate career at Sul Ross State University, where he developed into a key defensive player.
