Porter’s Chapel pulled off a 33-22 win over Tallulah Academy

Vicksburg, Miss.-Porter’s Chapel Academy girls’ basketball team is getting back to their winning ways as they took down Tallulah Academy 33-22 on Thursday night. Last night’s win put the Lady Eagles at 4-6 on the year as they captured their third win this month.

Sophie Masterson maintained her role as PCA’s lead scorer as she finished with a double-double which consisted of 11 points and 13 rebounds. Marley Bufkin put up 10 points in the win which included a key 3-pointer to seal the victory along with her four steals and four rebounds.

The Lady Eagles came out after halftime on a hot streak as they went on a 9-0 run to maintain their lead. Kendall Smith went hard defensively as she grabbed 13 rebounds to go with her six points while Lexi Whittington scored four points and pulled down eight rebounds. Mia Abdo also hit two free throws.

Abigail Kennedy led the Lady Trojans with eight points and Emily Fortenberry scored six while Emily Grace Malone added four.

PCA will travel to face Prairie View Academy on Friday.
