Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected through Friday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Off-and-on showers and thunderstorms will continue through the end of the week, with mild temperatures and a mix of clouds and sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight brings a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a low around 64 and calm winds.

Thursday will be partly sunny with a 50 percent chance of showers and possible thunderstorms after 11 a.m. The high will be near 84, with light east-southeast winds shifting to the south at 5 to 10 mph. Rainfall amounts are expected to remain light, though heavier totals are possible in thunderstorms.

Thursday night carries a slight 20 percent chance of showers before 1 a.m. under mostly cloudy skies. The low will be around 65 with south-southeast winds increasing to 5 to 10 mph overnight.

Friday will bring another chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1 p.m., with a high near 84. Light south winds will increase to 5 to 10 mph during the day. The chance of rain is 40 percent.

A slight chance of early evening thunderstorms lingers Friday night before skies become partly cloudy. The low will be around 65, with south-southwest winds becoming calm. Rain chances drop to 10 percent overnight.
