Two dead in probable murder-suicide on Division St.

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Two people are confirmed dead in a probable murder-suicide on Monday afternoon on Division Street in Vicksburg.

According to multiple sources close to the matter, the Vicksburg Police Department responded to an address at the 1400 block of Division St. on Monday afternoon where the bodies were discovered. The Vicksburg Daily News has learned that the woman was shot in the head and at some point later, the husband took his own life.

Warren County coroner Doug Huskey stated that the names of the victims have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

No further information is available at this time. The Vicksburg Daily News has reached out to Vicksburg Police Chief Penny Jones who has yet to inform the public regarding the incident, and will update this when and if any additional is made available.
