VHS picked up a district win over Callaway

JACKSON, Miss. – The Vicksburg High School boys’ basketball team picked up their second district win in a row on Friday after going on the road to defeat Callaway. The Gators came away with a 46-45 win to put their record at 10-11 and 2-4 in district play.
Javeion Perkins led VHS with 12 points while freshman Jaquez Jones added 11 on the board. Kris Washington contributed nine points and Brycen Jones scored seven in the win. Jaquez Marshall finished with five points and DeCorey Knight Jr. had two points.
Girls:
The Missy Gators took a 70-50 loss to Callaway. Zion Harvey led VHS with 26 points and six steals while Cynia Johnson grabbed 17 points to go with her seven points and Jordan Grace added nine points for VHS(12-9).
