VHS tennis finishes third in district and sends three to state

Amnesty Tyler led the way with a second-place finish in girls singles, earning a berth in the state championship. Madisyn Bailey also turned in a strong showing and later teamed with Chaez’ Moore to claim second place in mixed doubles. The duo will also advance to the state tournament.

In boys competition, Khaleb Bailey and Arthur Davis competed in No. 1 doubles and delivered a solid effort.

Head coach Monica Williams praised her team’s effort and growth throughout the season.

“As a coach, I am incredibly proud of this team,” Williams said. “Despite the challenges we faced throughout the season, their perseverance, growth and determination truly showed. It has been a season of resilience, and I am grateful for the effort each player has given.”

Williams added that she is excited to see Tyler compete in girls singles at state, along with Bailey and Moore in mixed doubles.
