Excel by 5 and United Way of West Central Mississippi Presents: Let’s Get Ready for Our Adventure Health Fair

Vicksburg, MS – July 8, 2024 – Excel by 5 and the United Way of West Central Mississippi is excited to announce “Let’s Get Ready for Our Adventure,” a health fair designed to engage and educate the community on various aspects of health and wellness. This event will take place at the Warren County Public Library on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 12:45 PM to 6:30 PM.

The health fair will feature interactive Health Fair Hubs, covering a wide range of topics including child safety, developmental milestones, parenting classes, education, healthy eating, local adventures, and more. These hubs are designed to provide valuable information and hands-on activities for both children and parents.

Special Guests and Activities

Ed Said from Mississippi Public Broadcast: Engage with Ed Said and learn about the importance of healthy eating and active living in a fun and interactive way.
Move to Learn: Participate in exciting physical activities that promote movement and learning.
Smoothie Bike from Alcorn State University: Kids can create their own delicious and nutritious smoothies by pedaling the smoothie bike.
In addition to these special guests, each child will receive a free book and other goodies to take home, ensuring they leave with lasting memories and valuable resources.

Excel by 5 is a community-based certification designed to improve the well-being of young children by age five. The program emphasizes the important roles parents and early childhood educators play in the lives of children during their most formative years. Through collaborative efforts, Excel by 5 aims to enhance the quality of early childhood experiences.

United Way of West Central Mississippi exists to mobilize people in the community, so all can thrive. They do this by providing resources in the areas of youth opportunity, healthy community, community resiliency, and financial security.
