VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A stretch of unsettled weather is on tap for Vicksburg this week, with increasing clouds Monday night giving way to several rounds of rain and possible thunderstorms through Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is expected Tuesday night into Wednesday, with localized flooding possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Tonight, skies will become increasingly cloudy, with a low around 58 degrees. Light east winds will shift to the east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph after midnight.

On Tuesday, showers are likely by the afternoon, with a chance of thunderstorms developing. The high will be near 75, with east-southeast winds at 10 to 15 mph. Rain chances are at 60 percent, with up to half an inch of accumulation possible.

Tuesday night brings a higher risk of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall, with lows around 63. Rainfall totals could reach 2 to 3 inches.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue into Wednesday, especially after 10 a.m. The high will be near 77, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. South winds will blow at 5 to 10 mph.

Showers may linger Wednesday night, with a low near 63 and a 40 percent chance of rain.
