Severe storms possible Friday night, clearing by Sunday

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A round of showers and potentially severe thunderstorms is expected to move through the area Friday night, but clearer, cooler weather is on the way for the remainder of the weekend and into next week, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight, showers and thunderstorms are likely, with some storms possibly severe. The low will be around 63 degrees, with south-southeast winds near 10 mph shifting to the southwest after midnight. The chance of rain is 70 percent.
On Saturday, showers are likely before 11 a.m. Conditions will gradually clear, and the high will reach near 76 degrees. Winds will shift from the west-southwest to the northwest at 10 to 15 mph. Rain chances are at 60 percent.
With the severe weather out of the way, Saturday night will be mostly clear, with a low around 53 and light north winds.
Sunday brings sunny skies and a high near 75. North-northwest winds will reach 5 to 10 mph. The clear weather continues into Sunday night, with lows around 53 and calm conditions.
Monday will be sunny with a high near 79. Winds will shift east around 5 mph. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
