TALLULAH, LA.(VDN)—The St. Aloysius softball team went on the road to defeat Tallulah Academy 9-3. Madison Spencer and Megan Theriot each hit their first varsity home runs in the win, both proving to be game-changers.
“This was very exciting,” Spencer said. “This is actually where I hit my first varsity home run in practice, and now I’ve done it in a game on the same field.”
Madelyn Kavanaugh opened the game with a double, but the Lady Flashes were held scoreless in the first inning. The bats came alive in the third when Kavanaugh hit an RBI single. Spencer followed with a home run over the fence, bringing in two more runs as she and Kavanaugh crossed the plate.

Connelly added an RBI single in the seventh to make it 9-1. Tallulah Academy scored two more runs in the bottom of the inning, but it wasn’t enough.
Kavanaugh went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with one RBI and five stolen bases.
